FNPA – CIB Workshop: Indigenous Economic Participation

Décembre 19 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm CST

Join FNPA and the Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB) for an interactive session on how to partner with the bank on energy projects

Join the Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB) on December 19, 2024, from 3:00-5:00 pm for an interactive session on how to partner with the Bank on energy projects – from wind to solar and energy storage.

The CIB is working with First Nation, Métis and Inuit communities across Canada through their Indigenous Community Infrastructure Initiative (ICII) and Indigenous Equity Initiative (IEI).

Through these initiatives, the CIB lends to new infrastructure projects that are in partnership with, and for the benefit of, Indigenous communities to reduce their infrastructure gap and promote economic participation.

In this session, you will engage with the CIB’s investment experts to learn about the CIB offerings, particularly the IEI loan which provides communities with access to capital to purchase equity stakes in infrastructure projects in which the CIB is also investing.

The session will be offered in person at First Nations University of Canada, and virtual through a link provided by FNPA upon registration.

This workshop aims to build financial capacity, foster partnerships, and provide actionable insights to support Indigenous-led initiatives that drive economic growth and sustainability. Workshop Highlights:

  • Innovative Financing Options: Explore tailored financial solutions for clean energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Capacity Building: Learn how to structure and access funding for impactful, indigenous-led community projects.
  • Project Development Insights: Understand the steps to develop successful partnerships and secure sustainable funding.
  • Collaborative Learning: Hear from industry experts and financial specialists.
