TSA Technical Workshop: Calculating Total Energy Use Intensity
Auditorium, Central YMCA 20 Grosvenor Street, Toronto, OntarioThe TSA is excited to welcome architect and building science lecturer Andy Thomson from the OpenBuilding team for an in-person lecture and hands-on workshop unpacking the newest version of this open source TEUI calculator. We all know measuring the energy efficiency of our buildings is critical if we are to achieve a more sustainable future. But how can we improve on our designs if we don’t have the energy model or performance data? During this jam-packed half-day workshop you’ll have the opportunity to: Learn about the reasons behind the development of the TEUI Building Energy Rating System and an overview of the tool’s basics. Work with a team to complete a TEUI 3 baseline document using a Case Study Guide, Engage in hands-on, interactive demonstrations highlighting fundamental building science concepts. By the end of this session you will leave with an understanding of why and how to use the OBJECTIVE v3, as well as a unique and visceral new outlook on building science fundamentals.
