Podcast released on March 8th, 2021

This conversation was released as an episode of the In the Green Chair podcast on March 8th.

How do I challenge gender issues in the energy sector? What skills can I use to navigate energy management as a non-male identifying person? Join us for a bonus Becoming x In the Green Chair event, featuring Megan Bennett to learn about energy management and gender.

Megan Bennett is passionate about solutions for a clean energy transition that prioritize equality, diversity, and justice. She has worked in energy efficiency, conservation, and climate action for over fifteen years. As Director of Program Operations at Summerhill she currently oversees the delivery of innovative residential and commercial energy efficiency programs for clients across Canada.

In 2019, she launched Plugged In, a podcast that amplifies the work of diverse women and their stories and visions for a low carbon future. A founding board member of StepUp, she supports the work of this volunteer run not-for-profit that aims to advance gender equity, diversity, and inclusion in Canada’s energy management sector. She lives and works in Thornbury, Ontario, on the traditional territory of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation, with her partner and two daughters. On weekends she can be found exploring the beautiful trails of southern Georgian Bay on her mountain bike or skis.
