Becoming ... A Carpenter

 What are the steps to becoming a Red Seal General Carpenter?  How can carpenters address energy needs in homes? What role do the trades play in a green economy? In January, join us to learn the answers to these questions and to hear about the interesting and varied career path of Andy Cockburn. 

Andy Cockburn is a Red Seal General Carpenter and Certified Passive House Consultant, with a broad range of site and shop experience in custom housing, heavy timber framing, stairs, design and restoration.  His career interests have led to work in commercial radio, in marketing, trades, teaching and non-profits, his most recent position being Director of Education and Training with NAIMA Canada.  Andy is currently serving his third year as President of his local Home Builders’ Association in Lanark and Leeds.
